Nowadays Bali authorities and decision-makers are taking Bitcoin under close consideration. Bali is an island and province of Indonesia with a population of 4,225,000 inhabitants and a huge number of international tourists from various countries in the world.
The representatives of the Central Bank of Indonesia are considering the possibility of banning all types of cryptocurrency in the country in the near future.
Causa Iman Karana, the head of the Bali branch of the National Bank of Indonesia commented:
“We found out from some postings on social media that Bali appeared to have become a haven for Bitcoin transactions. The next step is we will ban them as mandated by the law. We ask them not to use it anymore. Along with the Directorate of Special Crime Investigation unit, we will enforce the rule that all transactions in Indonesia must use rupiah.”
