BitFlyer, a Japanese bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange is now operating in Europe after it got a license to operate across the EU.
Being the 14th largest exchange based on its volume, Bitflyer had more than $294 million trading in the last 24 hours. BitFlyer users are mainly interested in bitcoin.
BitFlyer is not following the mainstream and adding hundrets of altcoins. Its users can buy Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and Monacoin, which is a popular Japanese coin. In Europe they are planning to trade bitcoins with Euros — but the company said it intends to offer:
“other virtual currencies such as Litecoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and Bitcoin Cash later in the year.”
BitFlyer was granted its payment license in Luxembourg, where it’s going to have its physical presence.
Japan is one of the world’s crypto trading centres, but it’s said that Europe has potential to grow significantly. BitFlyer hopes its early migration to Europe can give it an advantage over the competitors, that, for sure, will move to Europe as well.
