A few days ago Microsoft made a loud announcement that BTC would no longer be available on their website as a payment method. Users could only put money on their accounts with Bitcoin. But the company has reestablished full Bitcoin payment functionality again with the help of BitPay, that currently will be taking care of all the BTC payments.
Why did Microsoft suddenly stopped using Bitcoin? As the currency takes more time to confirm transactions, has high network fees, has a list of technical issues, its rate is jumping up and down, the technological giant decided to halt most of the Bitcoin payment functionality on its website. Consequently, clients from the USA could only pre-fill their Microsoft Store accounts with BTC.
After all, full Bitcoin payment functionality has been restored to Microsoft’s website. The tech giant established its cooperation with Bitcoin in 2013 and, we believe, if the game was not worth the candles, their mutual work wouldn’t have made it for five years. We can only guess, where this synergy will lead.
