One of the largest manufacturing companies of the telecommunication equipment Huawei submitted the patent application for a blockchain system for intellectual property protection. The relevant information was published on the website of the State department on the intellectual property of China.
The document says that for the first time the application was submitted on August 15, 2016. In it, the system of verification of the rights for intellectual property based on a blockchain in P2P-network is described.
Huawei representatives plan that the blockchain has to fix all information connected with verification including the identity card of the owner of copyright and “a point of access to digital content”.
“When the P2P-network receives a request for downloading, the system of verification identifies the personality of the user and checks his private key or the license before approving downloading.”
— the document states.
In the application it is especially noted that permissions to download will be given only in case the information provided by the user completely coincides with the one stored on a blockchain platform.
