Saudi Arabia announced blockchain-based cooperation with IBM

The municipality of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, announced a blockchain-based cooperation with the technological giant IBM. The company will develop strategies for implementing DLT technology in public services.

IBM will be a technology partner of the municipality of Elm. The task of the American corporation is to develop  blockchain-based solution for the municipality, and Elm will integrate these technologies into the government services of the country.

According to representatives of the municipality, blockchain projects serve the citizens of the country in digital format and support the revolutionary goals of the program Saudi Vision 2030.

“Cooperation between the municipality of Riyadh, Elm and IBM will help the government of Saudi Arabia to review and transform ways of providing services to citizens, businesses and guests of the country. This is a strategic step towards achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 program, “said Tareq Zarg El-Ayyun, the CEO of IBM Saudi Arabia.

IBM has also announced a partnership with the Australian government. As part of the cooperation, the corporation will provide automation services to the country’s departments and help introduce blocking technology into government services.
