The decision-makers in Brazil are planning to switch national petitions, an ineffective electoral machanism of the country, onto the Ethereum platform, to operate thousands of millions of votes on the much more successful Blockchain network.
In Brazil, natinal petitions giva over 145 mln voters a chance to reach to a consensus on valid political issues.
“In part this is due to the absence of a platform that can securely collect the signatures of one percent of voters. We’ve been through a sort of crisis regarding the legitimacy…of our laws. Although the popular initiative does exist, there is no secure way to collect people’s signatures so people can propose bills themselves.”
