CryptoCup, the first blockchain platform for the World Cup, announced the launch of the new game on May 21.
On the eve of the World Cup, the CryptoCup team offered an unusual experiment to the crypto community. The World Cup is held every 4 years for only a few months. Accordingly, each subsequent game that will take place on the platform will be a kind of exclusive, time-limited event for sports fans and crypto-enthusiasts.
Tokens for the World Cup will be traded only during its holding. July 23, after the end of the championship, all tokens will be “cashed” and their owners will receive their winnings.
This game model assumes double risks of volatility, because the price of each token will change after each match played. But those who are confident in their knowledge of the football market, it can play into the hands.
The technical side of the game is supported by the blockchain Ethereum. Geg Colvin, the organizer of Ethereum Magicians and the developer Ethereum Virtual Machine, and Coinfabrik, the creators of Jaxx and RSK wallets, were the project’s advisors for the implementation of the code. The latter carried out a full audit of the smart platform contracts and joined the project as partners.
When creating a token model, the developers bet on the standard ERC-721, which differs from the usual ERC-20 in the first place by the uniqueness and indivisibility of each token. Each CryptoCup token will be an electronic ticket, where the player will indicate his forecast of the results of all matches of the championship. Such a token can not be stolen, faked or altered, but can be sold.
